First Look: Nukeproof Mega 2016

Tuesday 10 November 2015 Filed in: General

Nukeproof are proud to introduce the all new Mega for 2016.

Nukeproof has a proud history in creating performance mountain bike products and the all new Mega is the most compelling all mountain frame we have ever created. Since 1999 the Megavalanche has been synonymous with all mountain riding and the advancements in trail bikes to suit the terrain. The original Mega was conceived from the desire of Nukeproof employees to create their ideal 'do it all' bike and test it against the world by competing in the infamous Mega Avalanche, France. Gravity focussed geometry paired with pedalling efficiency and a rewarding all mountain ride are in its DNA.

The new Mega is a force to be reckoned with on the trails. A revised pedal platform, thanks to an all new rear suspension linkage, will reward your effort uphill more efficiently and also enable you to extract the maximum out of yourself when pointed downhill. The move to the Horst linkage enables the rider to enjoy more active suspension, especially under braking. We have also refined the pivot points on the linkage to allow for a more linear suspension curve.

The sleek lines of the Mega not only offer a weight saving and improved strength; the unique hydro-formed 6061 Aluminium also offers extra compliance thanks to the natural damping in the top tube. Also, new for 2016 is the addition of the 29" wheel size. The 29" platform offers riders 150mm travel front and rear, with the 27.5" still offering 160mm from each end.

The all new design will be available with offerings of various specifications and price points, from the new entry level Race model to the no compromising specification of the Team model. For those who wish to custom build their own frame, we also offer both Mega 275 and Mega 290 in frame only options.

The Mega 275 and Mega 290 as well as the new Pulse, Scout 275 and 290 gives Nukeproof the most compelling and complete global offering yet.
